9 Trivial FAQs For Web Development
Over the past few months we have been getting response from various type of leads. General inquiry, fan mails, hate mails, black mails you name it we have it. So we decided to compile our top trivial Frequent Asked Questions (FAQs). Anyhow, this article does not intended to degrade or defame anyone, it's a reference when dealing with web developers/ web designer.

9 Trivial Questions Asked by Prospect (Leads) or Client

  1. My kid can build a website over night! Why can't you?
Your kids are probably talking about MySpace, Blogspot, Wordpress, Freeweb and the rest. Don't they look alike? I bet it does. At Laman7.com, we emphasize on uniqueness, we plan, structurize, implement and beautify your website. That's why we take time to build your web.
  2. Your company is really small, can you really build website?
Yes we can. In fact the smaller the group you are working with, the easier you can manage your project. You normally get tonnes of 'unbilled' benefits. The decisions we make are much quicker compared to tiered web developer. Remember, the bigger the company, doesn't mean the better your web gets. (Also you might have to pay more when dealing with bigger corporation!)
  3. This is out of our budget, can you lower it?
I'm sorry. We have a very strict policy on pricing (but we do offer discounts to non-profit organization). When we quote a project, it's based on the workload we will be dealing with. Imagine if we charge you per man hour, you wouldn't know how much until the bill came up. We are a premium website developer charging far less than we used to in the UK.
  4. Is my input relevant to your design?
Yes and No. Yes, we do need your logo, corporate color and the style you prefer. We appreciate your feedbacks and business, but trust us, we have been building web site since the existance of internet. We know how to make you look good. After all, the audience of your website is your clients not you.
  5. Can you use Comic Sans as a standard font?
No! Comic sans are not designed for website. As much as you love comic sans or any decorative fonts, chances of the audience having the font installed is very little. What's imporatant is making your site presentable and readable.
  6. Why must we go through BETA stage before it's released?
Eventhough we built the site grown up, we may not know what may arise in the future. There will be some bugs, nontheless we look forward to rectify it.
  7. We only want static pages. We don't need a CMS. Will do it for me?
Unfortunately, we don't do static page. Why? Because we don't want your website to be another junk on the internet. Just like the articles posted on a community library billboard, it'll turn yellow after years. Also it's much professional, cooler and consistent to use a CMS. Then only you can blow away your competitors or tell you mum ;)
  8. I called your developers (staffs) several times, but they didn't pickup the phone!
As much as we'd love to do business with you, we don't appreciate phone calls for the purpose of consultation, complains or to report a bug. We highly appreciate if you could email us. Why? Because phone conversation cannot be logged and email can. This way, we can keep track of what's going on and it's easier for us to refer the matter to the right person.
  9. My website is completed, but how come I'm not ranked in any search engine?
Getting highly ranked in search engine take months, sometime years. The best way to get ranked is by having people to logon to your website. How do I market my website? Well, for a start, you can reprint your domain name on your letterhead, refer to friends, join a newsgroup, participate in link exchange, put up you links on directory, write articles, the possibility is endless. You can check our previous article on free traffic. The quickest way is to

A reminder from us, be sure to know what you want instead of having the web developer quoting a figure that'll surprise you.
