Earlier in 2024, I saw a tweet to give Fiverr SEO a try. For a small fee, the gig worker will provide me with x amount of backlinks. Sure, why not? Let’s give this a try.

I allocated RM500-ish for this service.

  1. Local SEO Citation
  2. Increase DR, DA, TF

Here’s how it goes

Warning: Do not do this to your business domain or client. It will bring more harm in the future.

Service 1: Local SEO Citation

Citation is referring domain from Listings website. To do citations, you have to manually create account at every business listing and link back to your website.

Here’s a diagram to make it easier to understand.

It’s listing websites that refers to you.

Technically, the more, the merrier, correct? – I believe so.

I ordered one from a seller that does that.

He delivered this in 5 days. Along with Google Sheet with all the login and passwords.

After 5 months, here’s the result.

  1. It’s not in Top 10 (low keyword difficulty)
  2. Only 55 clicks

My Verdict for Local Citation

The list has poor and generic business site. It’s easy to login and create account. Anyone can do it. Except you need time to do this.

I spent RM 70 for this. I was hoping to be at least position 7-9. It failed to live up expectations. Next service, Increase DR.

Service 2: Increase DR, DA, TF

I spent USD100 on this gig, of course not on clients but on purely experimental website that I have.

DR, DA, TF is short for Domain Rating, Domain Authority and Trust Flow. Technically, the higher the score the high probable chance you will be rank for many keywords.

The gig promises to increase my DR, DA, TF.

It’s fairly simple process. Pay, submit your domain and wait.

The results

My Verdict for Increase DR, DA, TF

Mixed feeling here. On one end, I believe I could achieve this (longer than 1 year). On the other, I fear that the score will eventually drop.

For context, DR, DA, TF measurement are not by Google. I’ve seen websites with lower rating rank higher on Google.

Will I do it again? I don’t think so. The backlinks that I got is unnatural (link farm).

The next service, Backlink

Service 3: Backlink to URL

The theory behind this, the more backlink, the more likely you will rank.

Backlink are links from like-niche blogs or websites that links back to specific URL.

Here’s my order on Fiverr. It was a straightforward process. Submit the website URL I wanted to rank for and it’s up to them how to link it to me.

This was again, an experimental domain for dental niche.

The result was interesting.

The website had no authority. No backlink. New as whistle. It had good Technical SEO but never ranked before.

I purposefully tried on the hardest keyword to rank for.

My Verdict for Backlink

I spent RM170 on this gig and earned 593 clicks, that’s pretty good. If I had to pay for RM 1 for each click, I would need to pay close to RM600 for this.

If you’ve throwing kitchen sink to SEO and nothing seems to work, what else should you do? This is the answer. Go for it.

If you’re in doubt, don’t do it.

Summary Fiverr SEO

The results are mixed. I would not recommend to use these service to rank on Google because it’s unnatural. One day, Google will pick this up and slam it to your face.
